Usage:
1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Disconnect the governor control linkage from the governor. Disconnect the safety shut-off control cable from lever. Remove the cable bracket and clip mounting bolts from the channel assembly. Remove governor control channel assembly.
3. To remove left aftercooler core only, remove the instrument panel mounting plate-to-aftercooler housing retaining bolts. Lay the panel aside.
4. Remove the aftercooler air inlet line retaining washer and bolt from the turbocharger.
5. Disconnect equalizer line (1) from aftercooler air inlet line.
6. Remove the aftercooler-to-water temperature regulator housing vent line (2).
7. Remove the four cover assembly mounting bolts. Pull the cover assembly (3) out of housing.
8. Remove the aftercooler upper housing mounting bolts. Swing the air cleaner support bracket away from housing. Install two 5/16"-18NC forged eyebolts in housing. Attach a hoist and remove the aftercooler upper housing - weight 55 lbs. (25 kg).
9. Remove the aftercooler water inlet elbow (4). Pull the sleeve assembly (5) out of the aftercooler core.
10. Remove the aftercooler water outlet elbow mounting bolts from rear of aftercooler lower housing. Remove the water outlet elbow (6). Pull the sleeve assembly (7) out of aftercooler core.
11. Remove the aftercooler core - weight 40 lbs. (18 kg).
Install Aftercooler Cores
1. Throughly clean old gaskets from mating surfaces of aftercooler core and upper and lower housings.
2. Install a new core-to-lower housing gasket. Install the aftercooler core in lower housing.
3. Install the sleeve assemblies (1) in front and rear of aftercooler lower housing.

Be sure that drain hole in sleeve assemblies is in downward position. |
4. Position the water outlet elbow on rear of aftercooler housing, and install mounting bolts.
5. Install the water inlet elbow on front of aftercooler housing.
6. Install a new core-to-upper housing gasket. Position the aftercooler upper housing (2) on engine. Position the air cleaner brace. Install the upper housing mounting bolts.
7. Install aftercooler air inlet line retaining washer and bolt in the turbocharger.
8. Connect equalizer line to aftercooler air inlet line.
9. Install the cover assembly (3) in front of aftercooler housing. Install cover assembly mounting bolts.
10. Install the aftercooler vent line.
11. To install left aftercooler core, position the instrument panel on aftercooler housing, and install four mounting bolts.
12. Install the governor control channel assembly. Install the safety shutoff cable bracket and clip mounting bolts. Connect cable to lever. Connect control linkage to the governor.
13. Fill the cooling system.
