Note: Lubricate the threads of the head with clean grease before assembly.
(2) Torque for the head ... 600 ± 130 N·m (440 ± 95 lb ft)
(3) Lubricate the sealing lip of the buffer seal assembly lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(4) Lubricate the sealing lip of the U-cup seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(5) Lubricate the sealing lip of the wiper seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(6) Apply 4C-4032 Bearing Mount Compound to the wiper seal groove before assembly.

Note: Apply 5P-3413 Pipe Sealant to the threads of the retaining ring (1) and the carrier (2) before assembly.
(1) Torque for the retaining ring ... 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft)
(2) Torque for the carrier ... 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft)
(3) Torque for the locknut ... 600 ± 20 N·m (440 ± 15 lb ft)

- Remove the bucket and the bucket linkage.
- Remove the bucket cylinder.
- Remove the extendable stick.
- Remove the extendable stick.
- If necessary, disconnect harness assembly (1) .

- Extend the rod end of the extendable stick cylinder. Disconnect tube assemblies (3) and (5) . Remove clips (2) and (4) .

- Remove pin (6) .

- Use the suitable lifting device in order to remove extendable stick cylinder (7) and place the rod end of extendable stick cylinder (7) onto Tooling (A) . The weight of extendable stick cylinder (7) is approximately 42 kg (92 lb).

- Reposition the suitable lifting device and remove extendable stick cylinder (7) .
Installation Procedure
- Install extendable stick cylinder (7) in the reverse order of removal.
