Wiper Arm - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure

    Note: Mark the location of wiper arm (1) for installation purposes.

  1. Disconnect hose (2) from the washer spout.

  2. Open cover (3) on wiper arm (1).

  3. Remove nut (4) in order to remove wiper arm (1) from motor shaft (5).

  4. Remove bolt (8), washer (9), washer (10) and nut (11) in order to remove wiper blade (6) and sleeve (7) from wiper arm (1).

  5. Remove the screw and washer nozzle (12).

  6. Remove three clips (13) in order to remove hose (2) from wiper arm (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Verify that the components of the wiper arm are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.

  2. Inspect all components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.

  3. Use three clips (13) in order to install hose (2) onto wiper arm (1).

  4. Install the screw and washer nozzle (12) onto wiper arm (1).

  5. Use bolt (8), washer (9), washer (10), and nut (11) in order to install sleeve (7) and wiper blade (6) onto wiper arm (1).

  6. Install wiper arm (1) to motor shaft (5) with nut (4). Tighten nut (4) to a torque of 23 ± 1 N·m (17 ± 0.7 lb ft). Allow wiper arm (1) to grip motor shaft (5) for a minimum time of 30 minutes or a maximum of 4 hours. Tighten nut (4) again to a torque of 23 ± 1 N·m (17 ± 0.7 lb ft).

  7. Connect hose (2) to the washer spout.

  8. Close cover (3).
