ACTION REQUIRED
Rework Procedure Remove the Torque Converter and Torque Converter housing to gain access to the Impeller Bolts. Reference UENR1321 for "Remove and Install" and "Disassemble and Assemble" details. Important: Prior to impeller bolt removal, please check and record the torque of all twenty-four 1A-2029 Bolts. Give the information to your Dealer Technical Communicator (TC) along with the machine SMH, this service letter program number, and CPI391769. Request the Dealer TC to submit the information through CPI Feedback within the Service Information Management System (SIMSi). How to check for proper torque: 1.Secure the torque convertor so it does not move during torque audit 2.Use Dial / Digital Torque tool 3.Use Static Torque a) Set a dial or digital torque wrench to a maximum of 42.5 N.m (31.3 lb ft.). b) Place wrench on bolt and move evenly in a clockwise direction. Do not use erratic or hesitated movements. Actual Torque - 50 N.m +/- 7 N.m (36.9 lb ft.) Static Torque - 42.5 N.m (31.3 lb.ft (85% OF actual torque) Note: (a) If bolt rotates even the slightest before reaching a maximum of 42.5 N.m, the bolt is under torqued and is considered loose (b) If bolt reaches 42.5 N.m without movement, it is considered properly torqued Replace all 1A-2029 Bolts with new 034-3557 Locking Bolts and all 5M-2894 Washers with new 283-8650 Washers. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 50 +/- 7 N.m (37 +/- 5 lb ft). Reference UENR1319 for Torque "Specifications". |
