Engine lifting eyes are located at the front and rear of the engine. The 7N-2328 pin is pressed into the 7N-2326 lifting eye. The 7N-2328 pin is designed to rotate in the 155-0726 bracket. Use a punch and hammer to tap the pin that is pressed into the lifting eye. A 16 ounce ball peen hammer (CAT PN: 386-3351) is recommended for use. Limit travel of the hammer head to ~150mm to 200mm (~6 to 8 inches) when tapping the pin. |
Image1.1.1 |
If the pin moves relative to the 7N-2326 Lifting Eye, replace the 7N-2326 Lifting Eye and 7N-2328 pin. Note: The lifting eye pin will slide (~3mm) back and forth with relation to the 155-0726 bracket. Note: Excessive striking force can move a pin with a proper press fit. Experience to date has been that pins move with minimal force in lifting eyes that were manufactured with oversized holes. |
