PROBLEM
The existing 2836751 Electric Motor Gp. can short on certain 795F AC Off-Highway Trucks. If the Motor Gp. fails due to shorting it will cause machine downtime. |

In the event of an After Failure motor replacement please download a full ET Product Status Report, full VIMS download, and download the Flight Recorders from both Motor Control ECMs. To prevent any time delay, submit these files, repair work order, motor serial number and any pictures of the failed area to Caterpillar Product Support at Abdallah_Mustafa@cat.com . -Machine Serial Number: -Type of Failure: -Work Order Number and Dealer Code for SIB: -Date of the failure: -Machine Hours at failure: -Motor Hours at failure: -Side of Machine: -Serial numbers of the new/replacement motor: -Serial numbers of the old/damaged motor: -Were there any other drivetrain failures/replacements recently: -Pictures of the failed motor, try to locate the short. -Pictures of the ground strap from the motor to the banjo housing and from the banjo housing to the main frame -Stator Insulation "Megger" test results: In addition, attach these files to a SIMS report for a permanent record. Remove the final drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly (KENR8715), "Final Drive - Remove". Remove the Traction Motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly (KENR8715), "Electric Motor (Wheel Traction) - Remove". Install new Traction Motor Refer to Disassembly and Assembly (KENR8715), "Electric Motor (Wheel Traction) - Install". Note: reference Service Magazine SEPD1623, "Assembly Procedure is Updated for the 795F AC Off-Highway Truck" for details on motor grease line routing. Re-install final drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly (KENR8715), "Final Drive - Install". |
