When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field,
"7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code. |

Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst. |
Certain 3943496 Alternators may fail. Alternators with a date code before the date below are suspect. |
Inspect all 3943496 Alternators in dealer parts stock. Review the date code on each 3943496 Alternator. The alternator date code can be located on the alternator data plate affixed to the side of the alternator.
If the date code on the alternator is before 15716, then remove the part from dealer parts stock.
If the date code on the alternator is 15716 or after, then mark the box as inspected according to this program and return the part to dealer parts stock. |
Submit one claim for all parts removed from dealer parts stock. |
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. |
