The 6Y8285 Seals in dealer Parts Stock may not have been packaged correctly allowing them to draw moisture from the air. Moisture causes the seals to swell and if used in a transmission, they will not provide adequate sealing.
Action Required
Inspect all the 6Y8285 Seals in dealer Parts Stock. Remove all 6Y8285 Seals from dealer Parts Stock that are packaged in plastic bags instead of aluminum foil packets.
- 6Y8285 Seals that are packaged in aluminum foil packets are packaged correctly and should not draw moisture from the air.

Submit one claim for all 6Y8285 Seals removed from dealer Parts Stock.
