Reworking The Dust Ejection System On Certain PM-565B Cold Planers Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3200" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3200" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

The current dust ejection system on certain PM-565B Cold Planers may allow exhaust gasses to back flow into the air cleaner, causing premature air cleaner failure.

Parts Needed

Fabricated, see the attached Illustration.

Action Required

1. Fabricate a blockoff plate as shown in the attached Illustration.

2. Disconnect the dust ejector crossover tube at the muffler two bolt flange.

3. Install the fabricated blockoff plate between the dust ejector tube flange and the muffler two bolt flange.

Owner Notification

Service Claim Allowances

NOTE: This is a 1-hour job. An additional 1 hour of labor will be allowed to cover the cost of the labor and materials to fabricate the blockoff plate.

NOTE: U.S. and Canadian Dealers Only - Eligible dealers may enter a Type 2 SIMS Report.
