Additional Hose Clamps Need To Be Installed On Certain 24H Motor Graders Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI1389" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI1389" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

A hydraulic hose may rub on an electrical connector causing a hydraulic oil leak and an electrical short on certain 24H Motor Graders. Additional hose clamps need to be installed.

Rework Procedure

1. The 9W-0724 Junction block is mounted to the fuel tank inside the right front door of the engine enclosure. The 9W-0742 Junction block needs to be mounted as shown in Illustration 1. If necessary, rotate junction block.

2. Install the 4W-3588 Bracket with existing bolt and washer (Illustration 2 & 3).

3. Secure the 128-5510 Hose and 127-5807 Hose to the 4W-3588 Bracket using 1 x 5P-7462 Clip, 1 x 5P-7463 Clip, 1 x 5P-7470 Clip, 1 x 5P-8182 Grommet, 1 x 6V-0683 Grommet, 1 x 8T-4194 Bolt, 2 x 8T-4223 Washers and 1 x 8T-4244 Nut.

4. Ensure there is no interference between hoses and electrical cables or junction block. Adjust if necessary.

5. Ensure there is no interference between electrical cables and 4W-3588 bracket.
