Usage:
At operating temperature, the oil in the hydraulic tank and in the hydraulic system is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Prior to disconnecting any hydraulic lines, release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Stop the engine. Move the hydraulic control levers to all positions to release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Release the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank. Remove the fill cap on the hydraulic oil tank only when it is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to release the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank. |
1. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system by moving the control levers to all positions. Release the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank by slowly loosening the fill cap.

2. Put identification marks on three hoses (1) as to their location on the vibratory motor. Disconnect the hoses from the vibratory motor. Put plugs in the ends of the hoses to keep dirt and debris out of the hydraulic system.
3. Remove the guard from over the magnetic sensor. Put identification marks on the two electrical wires as to their location on the magnetic sensor. Disconnect the wires from the sensor.
4. Remove four bolts (2) that hold vibratory motor (3) to the drum support assembly. Remove the vibratory motor.
5. Check the condition of the o-ring seal on the vibratory motor. If the seal is worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
NOTE: Install the vibratory motor in the reverse order of removal.
6. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level. See, "Hydraulic Tank" in the Operation And Maintenance manual
Disassemble And Assemble Vibratory Motor
Start By:
a. remove vibratory motor
1. Be sure the outside of the vibratory motor is thoroughly clean prior to disassembly.
2. Put an alignment mark across the end covers and housing of the vibratory motor for assembly purposes.
3. Remove four bolts (1) that hold the vibratory motor together. Separate port end cover (2) from the remainder of the motor.
4. Remove o-ring seal (7) from shaft cover (3). Check the condition of the o-ring seal. If the seal is worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
5. Remove spiral snap ring (6), spacer (5) and seal retainer (4) from shaft cover (3).
6. Remove ring seal (9) and lip seal (8) from shaft cover (3).
7. Remove thrust plate (12) and twelve pocket seals (13) from shaft cover (3).
8. Remove two check assemblies (11) and two roller bearings (10) from shaft cover (3).
9. Remove two gasket seals (14) from housing (16).
10. If necessary, remove two dowel pins (15) from housing (16).
NOTE: Drive gear (17) and idler gear (19) are a matched set. They are not serviced separately.
11. Mark the locations of drive gear (17) and idler gear (19) in port end cover (2). Remove the drive gear and idler gear from the port end cover. Remove thrust plate (18) and the twelve pocket seals.
NOTE: Assemble the vibratory motor in the reverse order of disassembly. Prior to assembling the motor, make sure all internal parts are clean and free of dirt and debris. Put clean hydraulic oil on all the parts.
End By:
a. install vibratory motor
