Usage:
1. Position the machine on a flat, clear, clean surface which will allow the machine to remain in a stationary position without the use of the brake.
Accident or injury could result if the machine is not blocked while working on the brake. |
2. Place blocks under both tires and the drum to prevent any movement while working on the brake valve.
3. Remove two bolts, nuts, washers and ground wires (1) located inside the area of the third step on the right hand side of the machine.
4. Remove, identify and plug five hoses (2), (3), (4), (5) and (6) from the brake valve.
5. Remove two electrical connections (7) and (8).
NOTE: the following steps are for the installation of the brake valve.
6. Attach two electrical connections (7) and (8).
NOTE: Installing only three hoses at this point will allow for easier installation of the brake valve to the machine body.
7. Remove plugs and install three hoses (2, 3, and 4) to the brake valve.
8. Install two nuts, bolts, washers and ground wires through the body plate and through the brake valve.
9. Remove plugs and install two hoses (5) and (6).
10. Fill hydraulic oil tank to the correct level. See "Hydraulic Tank" in the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.
11. Remove the blocks from in front of and behind the drum and the tires.
12. Start the machine and operate the brake several times to ensure that it stops the machine properly.
Disassemble And Assemble Brake Control Valve (CS-431B)
Start By:
a. remove brake control valve (CS-431B)
1. Remove two caps (1) and remove solenoid coils (2). Unscrew the coil stems from the brake valve body. Remove two o-rings (3) and (4) and one seal (5) from the stem. O-ring (3) is a harder o-ring than o-ring (4). O-ring (3) is referred to as a back-up o-ring, and is located at the bottom of the solenoid stem.
2. Remove pressure switch (6) from brake valve body.
3. Remove relief valve (7). Do not change any of the settings on the top of the relief valve. Remove the o-rings (8) from the stem of the relief valve. All of these o-rings are replaced as one relief valve seal kit.
4. Remove accumulator (9) and check valve (10). Do not change any of the settings on the top of the check valve. There are three o-rings attached to the check valve. All of these o-rings are replaced as one check valve seal kit.
NOTE: The following steps are for assembly of the brake valve.
5. Thoroughly clean and examine all components prior to assembly.
6. Install the accumulator (9). Install three o-rings on check valve (10), and install check valve (10) into brake valve body.
7. Install three o-rings (8) onto relief valve (7) and install relief valve into brake valve body.
8. Install pressure switch (6) into brake valve body.
9. Install one seal (5), one o-ring (4) and one back-up o-ring (3) onto the stem of the solenoid coil.
10. Install solenoid coil stems into the brake valve body. Install electrical coils (2) onto the coil stems and install screw on caps (1) onto the solenoid coil stems.
End By:
