3. Put tool (A) under the rear of the frame as shown. Installation of tool (A) will keep the machine level during removal of the drum assembly.

NOTE: Steps 4 through 10 are for CP-433B Vibratory Compactors equipped with a leveling blade assembly. If the machine is not equipped with a leveling blade assembly, proceed to Step 11.

------ WARNING! ------

At operating temperature, the oil in the hydraulic oil tank and in the hydraulic system is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Prior to disconnecting any hydraulic lines, release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Stop the engine. Move the hydraulic control levers to all positions to release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Release the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank. Remove the fill cap on the hydraulic oil tank only when it is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to release the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank.

--------WARNING!------

4. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system by moving the hydraulic control levers to all positions. Release the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank by slowly loosening the fill cap.

5. Put identification marks on hoses (2), (3), (5) and (7). These hoses are for the leveling blade cylinder. Disconnect hoses (2) and (3) from hoses (5) and (7). Put caps in the ends of the hoses to keep dirt and debris out of the hydraulic system. Remove retainer plates (4) and (6). Pull hoses (5) and (7) through the opening in the cleaner bar until they are clear of the cleaner bar.

6. Remove the bolt, washers and nut (8) that hold the rod end of the leveling blade cylinder to the leveling blade assembly.

7. Using a wire tie, fasten the rod end of the leveling blade cylinder to the bottom of the cleaner bar as shown. This will prevent the cylinder from rotating upward when the cleaner bar and the leveling blade cylinder are removed as a unit.

8. Fasten a hoist to cleaner bar (10) as shown. Remove six bolts (9), the washers and nuts that hold the cleaner bar to the yoke. Remove the cleaner bar. Weight of the cleaner bar with the leveling blade cylinder is 173 kg (382 lb). Weight of the cleaner bar without the leveling blade cylinder is 153 kg (337 lb).

9. Check the condition of teeth (11) on the cleaner bar. If any of the teeth are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. To remove a worn or damaged tooth, remove flex pin (12) with a hammer and punch; then remove the tooth from the cleaner bar.
