Crankshaft (Pump) - Remove and Install

Start By:
- Remove the crosshead.
- Remove the input drive.
- Disconnect hose assembly (1). Remove fitting (2) and hose assembly (3). Remove nuts (4) .

- Install Tooling (A) into bearing housing (5). Use Tooling (A) to remove bearing housing (5). Remove bearing housing (5) .

- Reorientate frame assembly (6) so that the crankshaft spines are facing upward. Use a suitable lifting device to position frame assembly (6). The approximate weight of frame assembly (6) is 1435 kg (3164 lb). Position frame assembly (6) on suitable cribbing. Make sure frame assembly (6) and the crankshaft is level.

- Remove bolts (8), bearing retainers (7), and shims (9) .

Note: Note the quantity and orientation of shims (9) behind bearing retainer (7) .
- Attach a suitable lifting device to remove crankshaft (10). The approximate weight of crankshaft (10) is 167 kg (368 lb). Remove crankshaft (10) from frame assembly (6) .

Installation Procedure
- Install crankshaft (10) in the reverse order of removal.
- Use Tooling (B) to check the crankshaft total float travel measurement. Crankshaft total float travel tolerance is 0.08 to 0.13 mm (0.003 to 0.005 inch). To adjust total float travel, remove or add shims (9) for bearing retainers (7) .

Note: To check the crankshaft total float travel measurement. Install Tooling (B) and set Tooling (B) to zero. Use a suitable lifting device to lift crankshaft (10) up until travel stops. Note the travel and record the measurement.
