Introduction

Use this procedure to check the regulated fuel pressure. Make sure that the fuel supply pressure is correct.

This tool group has an indicator that is used to read the pressure in the fuel lines. The Special Instruction, SEHS8907 is with the tool group.

Test Preparation - Fuel Pressure to Control Valve


NOTICE

Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel system. Thoroughly clean the area around a fuel system component that will be disconnected. Fit a suitable cover over disconnected fuel system component.

(7) Gas pressure sensor

(8) Fuel control valve

(9) Gas Shutoff Valve (GSOV)

  1. Turn off the main gas valve.

  1. De-energize GSOV (9) .

  1. Slowly remove gas pressure sensor (7) from gas line (6) .

  1. Install a fitting into gas line (6). Connect the 1U-5470 Engine Pressure Gp to the fitting. Refer to Illustration 1.

NOTICE

Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel system. Thoroughly clean the area around a fuel system component that will be disconnected. Fit a suitable cover over disconnected fuel system component.


  1. Open the main gas valve.

  1. Energize the GSOV.

  1. Check the engine gas pressure to the fuel control valve. If, the pressure is not 10.3 to 24.1 kPa (1.5 to 3.5 psig) refer to Adjustment Procedure - Fuel Pressure to Fuel Control Valve.

(10) Bolt

(11) Cover

  1. Remove cover (11), and install the correct tools, from the 8T-5160 Gas Regulator Setting Tool, for pressure setting adjustment.

  1. Adjust bolt (10) to achieve desired fuel pressure to the fuel control valve.

  1. After desired pressure is reached, install cap (11) .
