EID 1485 Autonomous Stop Receiver Radio Not Receiving Radio <RF> Signals
Follow this procedure if an event EID 1485 Autonomous Stop Receiver Radio Not Receiving Radio <RF> Signals occurs. When this event code is activated, the autonomous mining truck (AMT) will come to a complete controlled stop. This event code can be triggered by damage to any of the key components of the A-stop system on the AMT: antennas, receivers, cables, and connectors. This event code can also be caused by a physical blockage between the two antennas on opposite sides of the AMT platform.
Use an OCS laptop on the A-Stop locator page, and the test mode on an A-Stop to compare signal strength between the driver side and passenger side A-Stop antenna. Comparing the signal strength will assist in determining if the issue is isolated to a specific side.
Test Step 1. VISUALLY INSPECT A-STOP ANTENNAS.
- The A-stop antennas are mounted atop the mode lights on the front of the truck.
Expected Result:
A-stop antenna is not aligned or orientated correctly.
Results:
- A-stop antenna is not aligned or orientated correctly. -
Repair: Position and mounting are corrected.
Proceed to Test Step 11
- A-stop antenna is correctly mounted and aligned. - Proceed to Test Step 2
Test Step 2. VISUALLY INSPECT A-STOP MOUNTING STRUCTURES.
- Ensure that the mounting structure is secure and correctly orientated.
Expected Result:
A-stop mounting structure is damaged or misaligned.
Results:
- A-stop mounting structure is damaged or misaligned. -
Repair: Position and mounting are corrected.
Proceed to Test Step 11
- A-stop mounting structure is secure and mounted correctly. - Proceed to Test Step 3
Test Step 3. VERIFY LINE OF SITE BETWEEN A-STOP ANTENNAS.
- The A-stop antennas are mounted atop the mode lights on the front of the truck. There should be a clear path between the two antennas.
Expected Result:
Blockage discovered and removed between A-stop antennas.
Results:
- Blockage discovered and removed between A-stop antennas. -
Repair: Clear path between antennas.
Proceed to Test Step 11
- Clear line of site exists between A-stop antennas. - Proceed to Test Step 4
Test Step 4. CHECK FOR LOOSE OR DAMAGED CONNECTIONS OR DAMAGE TO COAXIAL CABLE.
- Check all connections and lengths of coaxial cable.
- Begin at one antenna following along entire length up to the receiver in the autonomy cabinet.
- If any loose connections are found, examine connection for damage or corrosion
- If any damage is found on the coaxial cable, replace entire length of coaxial cable.
- Repeat beginning at second antenna.
Expected Result:
Damage is found and repaired.
Results:
- Damage is found. -
Repair: Repair or replace coaxial cable.

This document can be found in the Publications box site.
Proceed to Test Step 11
- No damage is found on system. - Proceed to Test Step 5
Test Step 5. REPLACE BOTH A-STOP ANTENNAS.
- A-stop antennas are mounted atop the mode lights on the front of the truck.
- Order and replace BOTH A-stop antennas.
Expected Result:
Both A-stop antennas are replaced.
Results:
- Both A-stop antennas are replaced. - Proceed to Test Step 11
Test Step 6. REPLACE FIRST A-STOP RECEIVER.
- Order and replace one of the receivers located in the autonomy cabinet.
Expected Result:
First A-stop receiver is replaced.
Results:
- First A-stop receiver is replaced. - Proceed to Test Step 11
Test Step 7. REPLACE SECOND A-STOP RECEIVER.
- Replace second a-stop receiver and replace with the a-stop receiver removed in a previous step.
Expected Result:
Second A-stop receiver is replaced.
Results:
- Second A-stop receiver is replaced. - Proceed to Test Step 11
Test Step 8. REPLACE THE A-STOP COAXIAL CABLES INSIDE THE AUTONOMY CABINET.
- Replace the A-Stop system coaxial wiring that is inside the autonomy cabinet for both right and left sides.
Expected Result:
Coaxial wiring is replaced.
Results:
- Coaxial wiring is replaced. - Proceed to Test Step 11.
Test Step 9. REPLACE THE A-STOP COAXIAL CABLES FROM THE AUTONOMY CABINET TO THE RIGHT SIDE A-STOP ANTENNA.
- Replace the A-Stop system coaxial wiring that runs from the autonomy cabinet to the right side A-Stop antenna.
Expected Result:
Coaxial wiring is replaced.
Results:
- Coaxial wiring is replaced. - Proceed to Test Step 11.
Test Step 10. REPLACE THE A-STOP COAXIAL CABLES FROM THE AUTONOMY CABINET TO THE LEFT SIDE A-STOP ANTENNA.
- Replace the A-Stop system coaxial wiring that runs from the autonomy cabinet to the right side A-Stop antenna.
Expected Result:
Coaxial wiring is replaced.
Results:
- Coaxial wiring is replaced. - Proceed to Test Step 11.
Test Step 11. RESTART SYSTEM.
- Key cycle AMT and verify status of event code.
Expected Result:
EID 1485 cleared.
Results:
- EID 1485 cleared. - STOP
- EID 1485 still appears but no parts have been replaced. - Proceed to Test Step 4
- EID 1485 still appears and both antennas have been replaced. - Proceed to Test Step 6
- EID 1485 still appears and first a-stop receiver has been replaced. - Proceed to Test Step 7
- EID 1485 still appears and both A-Stop receivers have been replaced. - Proceed to Test Step 8
