Fumes Disposal - Remove and Install

Usage:

D10R AKT

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the bottom guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bottom Guards - Remove and Install".

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from a fire.

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Open the right engine guard.

  2. Loosen clamp (2).

  3. Move hose assembly (1) aside.

  4. Remove shield (3).

  5. Remove bolts (4) and washers.

  6. Loosen clamp (6).

  7. Remove tube assembly (5).

  8. Repeat Step 2 through Step 7 for the left side of the engine.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install tube assembly (5) with washers, bolts (4), and clamp (6).

  2. Install shield (3).

  3. Place hose assembly (1) in position.

  4. Tighten clamp (2).

  5. Close the right engine guard.

  6. Repeat Step 1 through Step 5 for the left side of the engine.

End By:

  1. Install the bottom guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bottom Guards - Remove and Install".
