Usage:
Fuel delivery (fuel quantity for a given number of strokes) data for only one speed and fuel rack position will be given on new specification sheets. Formerly, delivery data were given for many rack positions and at times for several speeds.
The former delivery data were used to provide a testing point as near to the rated speed and rack position as possible. The delivery tests showed a comparison of the fuel system that was tested with that of a known good system, and not directly to an engine. It has been found that the large quantities of information were not needed.
We will now publish delivery data for one rack position and one speed at approximately rated conditions for all new specifications sheets, and for one rack position at cranking speed for most scroll fuel systems. Cranking speed information for several rack positions will be given for fuel systems with governors that allow additional rack travel to start the engine.
The next revision of Special Instruction Form SEHS7465 will have the above changes.
