Electric Starting Motor

Usage:

Remove & Install Electric Starting Motor

1. Put identification marks on all electrical wires connected to the electric starting motor for installation purposes. Disconnect all of the electrical wires.

2. Fasten a strap and a suitable lifting device to electric starting motor (1). Remove three mounting bolts (2), and remove the electric starting motor from the flywheel housing. The weight of the electric starting motor is approximately 29 kg (65 lb).

NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the electric starting motor.

3. Check the condition of the gasket used between the electric starting motor and the flywheel housing. If the gasket is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement.

4. Install the gasket on the electric starting motor.

5. Fasten a strap and a suitable lifting device to the electric starting motor. The weight of the electric starting motor is approximately 29 kg (65 lb). Put the electric starting motor in position in the flywheel housing, and install three bolts (2) that hold it.

6. Connect all electrical wires to the electric starting motor in their original locations.
