Fan Drive

Usage:

Remove Fan Drive

1. Remove the fan.

2. Remove the alternator belts (3).

3. Remove the fan drive mounting bolts (1) and remove the fan drive belts.

4. Remove the fan drive adjusting screw and the fan drive assembly (2).

5. Remove the fan drive spacer (4).

6. Remove the bolts, lock and retaining plate (5) from the bracket assembly shaft.

7. Remove the pulley from the bracket assembly.

8. Remove the bearing and spacer from the pulley.

9. Remove the retaining rings (7) and bearing (6) from the pulley.

10. Remove the seal from the pulley.

Install Fan Drive

1. Install the seal in the pulley using tool setup (A). Install the seal with the lip towards the bracket assembly.

2. Install the bearing and retaining rings in the pulley.

3. Install the pulley on the bracket assembly.

4. Install the spacer and bearing in the pulley.

5. Install the bolts, lock and retaining plate on the bracket assembly shaft.

6. Install the fan drive spacer.

7. Position the fan drive assembly on the engine and install the adjusting screw.

8. Install the fan drive mounting bolts.

9. Install the fan drive and alternator belts.

10. Adjust the belts so that when 25 lbs. (11,3 kg) pressure is applied midway between the pulleys it will deflect the belt 1/2" to 3/4" (12,7 to 19,1 mm) on new belts and 7/8" (22,1 mm) on used belts.

11. Install the fan.
