1140, 1145, 1150 & 1160 DIESEL TRUCK ENGINE Caterpillar

1. Drain the crankcase, the capacity is approx. 12 qts. (11.4 liter).

2. Remove the oil pan retaining bolts (1). Remove the oil pan (2).

OIL PAN
1. Bolts (thirty-two). 2. Oil pan.

Install Oil Pan

1. Clean gasket surface on cylinder block and oil pan.

2. Install oil pan gasket. Position the oil pan and install oil pan retaining bolts. Tighten retaining bolts to 17 ± 3 lb. ft. (2.4 ± 0.4 mkg).

3. Fill crankcase with 12 qts. (11.4 liter) oil.
