PROBLEM
The 6G1633 and 8X2926 Chain Groups used on certain 12H, 140H, 143H, 160H, and 163H Motor Graders may contain pins that did not receive the proper heat treat. Without the proper heat treatment the pins could shear off at low hours. The suspect chain groups have a date code of "F8". Chain groups that do not have a date code of "F8" are not covered under this program.AFFECTED PRODUCT

REWORK PROCEDURE
If a failure of one chain is experience, the other three chains on the machine should be inspected and replaced if they have the "F8" date code.
The date code is stamped on one side of the
chain links with a letter to the left of the trademark and a number to
the right of the trademark. See the following Illustration.
Illustration - Location of date code stamp on the chain links
Typically, every fifth or sixth link in each
chain will have the date code stamp. The date codes should be visible through
the access openings in the top and/or sides of the tandem housings. The
wheels may need to be rotated to move the links containing the date codes
to a visible location.
