The pump output tube fails due to vibration on certain 416C, 426C and 436C Backhoe Loaders. The 1629636 Pump Output Tube is failing at a high rate, only on 1999 built backhoe loaders. This failure is caused by a high resonance vibration cause by the hydraulic pump. See Illustration 1.

Rework Procedure
Illustration 1.
SOLUTION: Remove the 1629636 tube and mounting hardware and install a shorter tube and connector that has harmonics that will not be tuned the pump frequencies.
Procedure:
Follow normal Safety procedures such as:
1. Vehicle parked on level/flat surface.
2. Place all hydraulic implements on the ground.
3. Engine shut off.
4. System pressures relieved by moving all controls in all directions.
5. Parking brake applied.
6. Allow vehicle and system to cool before starting work.
Disassembly necessary:
1. Remove floor mat (1410903 Mat in the 1046381 Floor Mat Group).
2. Remove the floorplate in front of seat (1043915 Floorplate in the 1046045 Floorplate Group).
3. Drain the hydraulic fluid into suitable container. (Drain plug on hydraulic pump inlet casting.)
Remove: (Refer to 1638807 Pump Lines Group)
1. Remove the 8T1889 and 8T1890 Clips by removing (1) 8T4136 Bolt.
2. Disconnect 1173235 Hose from one end of the 1629636 Tube.
3. Remove the 1629636 Tube Assembly, 1488335 Connector Assembly and mating O-rings.
4. Remove the 1605541 Plate Assembly by removing (1) 7X2550 Bolt (ref 1638807 Lines Group - Pump). Disassembly is now complete.
INSTALLING FIX: (Reference Illustration 2, 1882431 Lines Gp - Pump)
Illustration 2.
NOTE: Standard torque should be used for all fasteners and line joints.
1. Install (1) 8T8898 Connector, (1) 5K9090 and (1) 7M8485 Seals to the output flange (1145536 Block).
2. Install (1) 1604884 Tube on to the 8T8898 Connector (ref. 1882431 Lines Group - Pump)
3. Install (1) 1882434 Bracket on the output flange of the pump using (1) 7X2550 Bolt and (2) 8T4223 Washer
NOTE: One washer is used between the 1882434 Bracket and one is used above the bracket under the head of the bolt.
4. Install (1) 8T1889 and 8T1890 Clips onto the 1882434 Bracket and around the 1604884 Tube. Clips are retained by (1) 8T4136 Bolt.
5. Connect the 1173235 Hose as to the 1604884 Tube Assembly using (1) 5K9090 Seal.
