A shuttle valve needs to be added to the load sensing system on certain 574 Forwarders. When the steering metering pump is activated, the implement pump does not de-stroke to the standby pressure setting. This rework adds a shuttle valve to the load sensing system to prevent the problem.

Rework Procedure
PROCEDURE TO CORRECT STANDBY PRESSURE
Machine Preparation:
1. Engage the parking brake and allow the ladder to lower.
2. Engage the parking brake and allow the ladder to lower.
3. Turn the secondary disconnect switch to the 'OFF' position.
Rework Procedure:
1. Disconnect the indicated hose assembly from the rear of the implement control valve (the hose connects to the "LSP" port on the valve).
2. Remove the elbow and adapter from the "LSP" port.
3. Using a M4 bolt, carefully pull out the plug assembly from the "LSP" port.
4. Install a 9S8004 Plug with a 3J1907 O-ring Seal into the "LSP" port.
5. Disconnect the indicated hose assembly from the tee.
6. Install an 8T4223 Washer and an 1877731 Plate on the end of the implement control valve with a 6V7687 Locknut.
7. Install a 1642029 Shuttle Valve onto the plate with two 8C8451 Bolts and two 5C2890 Nuts.
8. Install a 6V8641 Connector into each port of the shuttle valve with a 3J1907 O-ring Seal.
9. Install a 4J5477 O-ring Seal into the end of each connector.
10. Install the elbow that was removed from the end of the implement control valve onto the connector as shown.
11. Connect the hose assembly that was disconnected in step 5, to the top of the shuttle valve. (This hose connects to the pressure-reducing valve for maximum signal pressure).
12. Connect a 1677956 Hose Assembly from the tee to the shuttle valve as shown.
13. Connect the hose that was disconnected in step 1 to the elbow on the shuttle valve. (This hose connects to the pressure-reducing valve for steering signal).
Test & Adjust Machine:
Test and adjust all of the pressures of the hydraulic system after the rework procedure has been completed.Refer to service manual; "RENR3031 Hydraulic System Test and Adjust", 554 Forwarder and 574 Forwarder for more information on the procedures.
