When reporting the repair, use "PS4607" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The 128-6796 and 143-2668 Non-Metallic Bearings used in the rear suspension "A" frames on certain D250E and D300E Articulated Trucks may fail. The non-metallic bearings can be replaced with steel bearings and grease lines to extend service life.

Rework Procedure
Both center and rear "A" Frames should be reworked at the same time. Refer to the service manual as required to carry out this rework.
1. Make the mounting plates and hose assemblies in Illustrations 2, 3, and 4. 2 plates are required of Illustration 4. (156-6301)
2. Disconnect the "A" Frames from the chassis and remove the non-metallic bearings.
3. Drill out the bearing mounting holes in the rear chassis to 23mm as per Illustration 6.
4. Drill and tap "A" Frame heads plates to accept grease fittings as shown in Illustration 5.
5. Install new 160-2164 Bearings into the "A" Frames, applying 7M7456 Sealant to the outer diameter of the bearing prior to installation. Install 2U6477 Rings using existing hardware. Reinstall "A" Frames to chassis with new hardware and torque to 700 ± 90 Nm.
6. Using manufactured 166-4457 Plate as a guide. Drill and tap the rear chassis in the area shown in Illustration 6 and mount the plate to the chassis.
7. Assemble grease lines as per Illustrations 6, 7, and 8.
8. Grease the bearings before operation.
NOTE: Service interval for the new steel bearings is every 10 hours.
