When reporting the repair, use "PS5503" as the Part number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

PROBLEM

A new inner slider needs to be installed on certain 416C, 426C, 436C, 428C, and 438C Backhoe Loaders equipped with an extended stick (E-stick). Cracks occur at the weld plug in the front of the "sharks fin" area of the E-stick inner slider. See Illustration 1. If cracks occur, a new E-stick inner slider needs to be installed. NOTE: The sharks fin area has had some internal structures changes to make it stronger.

AFFECTED PRODUCT

NOTE: The inner slider used in group #1 now retains the upper, top pad with threaded inserts welded into the slider. If your old upper, top pad has threaded inserts, you can drill them out (11mm dia hole) to allow the bolt to pass through the pad or install a new 1378898 upper, top pad. The previous design had the bolt installed from inside the inner slider and threaded into the pad insert. The new design has the bolt passing through the pad and threads into the inserts welded into the slider. ***** Group 1 *****
