NOTE: This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI1385" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI1385" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

Shield between engine and pumps needs to be extended to reduce the possibility of oil spraying on the engine on certain 24H Motor Graders. On some 24H Motor Graders the Mounting bolts for the shield may come loose or the shield may crack.

Rework Procedure

Rework Procedure (7KK24-43 & 45)

1. Weld 9R2613 Boss to 121-0950 Tube Assembly (Illustration 1).

2. Weld 9R2613 Boss to 121-0973 Tube Assembly (Illustration 2).

3. Weld 9R2613 Boss to 120-4216 Hood Assembly (Illustration 3).

4. Remove 7G5000 Transmission Filter Group, 143-4794 Screen Group - Brake, 130-3214 Filter Group - Brake and 7Y4075 Filter Group - Differential Lock from the 129-8523 Shield Assembly. The hoses do not need to be removed from the filter groups.

5. Replace the 129-8523 Shield Assembly with the 152-2676 Shield Assembly.

6. Install 152-2679 Shield Group - engine (Illustration 4, 5 & 6). Use standard torque on all bolts except where indicated by "low torque". Tighten bolts indicated by "low torque" to 30± 7 Nm (22±5 ft lb).

7. Reinstall the 7G5000 Transmission Filter Group, 143-4794 Screen Group - Brake, 130-3214 Filter Group - Brake and 7Y4075 Filter Group - Differential Lock to the 152-2679 Shield Assembly.

Rework Procedure (7KK44, 46-53, 55 & 57)

1. Replace the 152-2682 Plate As.,152-2684 Plate As., 152-2686 Plate As. and 152-2694 Plate As. with 162-8601 Plate As., 162-8605 Plate As., 162-8606 Plate As. and 163-5033 Plate As. (Illustration 4, 5 & 6). Use standard torque on all bolts except where indicated by "low torque". Tighten bolts indicated by "low torque" to 30± 7 Nm (22±5 ft lb).
