Product Support Program For Replacing The Rims On Certain 793 and 793B Trucks Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS0709" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number.Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

NOTE: This Revised Service Letter replaces the October 29, 1993 Service Letter. A change has been made to the TERMINATION DATE.

Termination Date

Problem

The rim assemblies may crack on certain 793 and 793B Trucks.The cracks will normally occur in the circumferential or butt welds and result in leaks.

1-1047190 Rim Assembly (Use as required)

Action Required

Replace the failed rim assembly with a new 1047190 Rim Assembly.
