New Detent Group Available For Hoist Control Valve {5051}

Usage:

DJB D550 Trucks

Description of Change: An improved detent arrangement for the hoist valve on DJB built D550 Articulated Dump Trucks is available. The new detent group includes a new detent ball retaining arrangement and a new spool centering spring. The new group provides a more positive detent than the former group.

Detent arrangement in hoist control valve.

Adaptable To: The new 7U2782 Detent Group is adaptable to the machines listed in Chart A. The group can be installed as a complete assembly or the former 2U1220 Detent Group can be converted using the parts listed in Chart B. The detent group is shown in the illustration. The former and new groups are pictorially the same.

The former detent group is no longer serviced. Also the 2U1260 Ball Retainer, 2U1257 Cover and 2U1119 Spring (which are all part of the former detent group) are no longer serviced. These parts are serviced by the parts listed in Chart C. Other parts of the former detent group are still available.

After installing the new detent, bleed the body hoist kick-out line as follows.

1. Park the machine on a level surface. Make sure that the parking brake is applied and the transmission is in neutral.

2. Start the engine and operate at low idle.

3. Fully raise the dump body and check that the plunger on the hoist kickout valve is pushed in. Adjust as described in the service manual if necessary.

4. Carefully block the wheels and release the parking brake.

5. Attach a clear pipe to the bleed fitting on the detent and put the other end into a suitable container.

6. Open the bleed fitting and use the hand lever on the SUSPENSION control valve to raise the suspension. Release the lever as soon as oil flows free of air. Avoid bleeding excessive amounts of oil.

7. Close the bleed fitting, allow the suspension to self level. Apply the parking brake and stop the engine.
