The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS52405" as the Part Number
and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

The existing 1790736/">179-0736 Rear Spindle can crack in the bell area of the casting inboard of the brake flange on certain 773D and 773E Off-Highway Trucks. If the existing rear spindle cracks through the casting wall, it can result in an oil leak. This service letter covers cracks in the bell area only, see photo below. |

Replace the existing 1790736/">179-0736 Rear Spindle with a new 1790736/">179-0736 Spindle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, KENR8333 or RENR8408, "Spindle - Remove and Install" for the procedure to replace the spindle.
Take photos of the castings marks on both sides of the failed spindle as shown and include them in the SIMS entry for the repair. |

If there has been a previous repair, part age/hours will apply. Retain a copy of the previous repair invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes, and specify repair date and machine hours in the "Additional Comments" section of the warranty claim.

28.0 hours allowance is for replacement of spindle on one side. Coverage does not apply to trucks that have violated the 10-10-20 load conformance. Documentation for load conformance must be provided upon request. |
