A New Aftercooler Core Is Now Used On Certain 3512C Locomotive Engines {1064}

Reference: For prefix F2X engines follow Special Instruction, M0068706, "Installation Procedure for the Aftercooler on Certain 3512C Locomotive Engines".

Description Of Change: The new aftercooler core has been improved to prevent fatigue failures of the water fins, air fins, and separator sheet.

Adaptable To: The following changes are adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers, and are effective with all products after the listed serial numbers.

The new 483-2090 Aftercooler Core As is a direct replacement of the existing aftercooler core.

The new aftercooler is 19.8 mm taller than the original aftercooler.

This change is effective for the serial numbers listed in Table 1.
