Wheel Loader:: 950M (S/N: EMB1-UP; XCJ1-UP; FTR1-UP; J1S1-UP); 962M (S/N: EJB1-UP; JYD1-UP; J2S1-UP; F2T1-UP)

Introduction

This Special Instruction details the installation of heavy-duty steps for certain 950M and 962M Wheel Loaders.

Do not perform any work, or order any parts until you have read and understand the information in this publication.

Operator Station Steps

Use the following procedure to assemble two complete 483-4840 Step Gp .

Locate and install the two 274-6580 Spacers (5) into 308-9116 Cable As (6) .

Install both 381-1834 Bracket As (1) using two 8T-4176 Bolts (4), four 5P-1076 Hard Washers (3) and two 329-3356 Nuts (2) .

Rear Platform Step

Use the following procedure to assemble one 484-1264 Step Gp .

Locate and install the two 274-6580 Spacers (15) into 337-0184 Cable As (16) .

Install both 486-9177 Bracket As (7) using two 8T-4176 Bolts (14), four 5P-1076 Hard Washers (13) and two 329-3356 Nuts (12) .

Attach both 486-2249 Bracket As (8) to brackets (7) using four 8T-7547 Bolts (11), eight 5P-4116 Hard Washers (10) and four 344-5674 Nuts (9) .

Heavy-duty steps will be installed at locations (A), (B) and (C) .

Use a suitable lifting device to hold parts in position during installation.

Attach one 483-4840 Step Gp to the operator station ladder location (A). Use four 8T-7547 Bolts (17) and four 5P-4116 Hard Washers (18).

Attach one 483-4840 Step Gp to the operator station ladder location (C). Use four 8T-7547 Bolts (17) and four 5P-4116 Hard Washers (18).
