Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the speed control


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove bolts (2) and remove plate (1) (If Equipped). Remove bolts (4). Remove manifold (3).

  2. Remove bolt (5) and remove pilot valve assembly (6). There are four bolts in total.

  3. Remove two screws (7). Remove cap (9) and O-ring seal (8).

  4. Remove O-ring seals (10). There are four O-ring seals in total.

  5. Remove two screws (11).

  6. Remove check valve (13) and remove O-ring seal (12).

    Relief Valve and Manifold Assembly

  7. Remove plug (14) and O-ring seal (15). Remove plug (16) and O-ring seal (17). There are four plugs and O-ring seals in total. Remove screw (18) There are eight screws in total. Remove plugs (22), O-ring seals (20), and check valve (19). Remove relief valve (21) and O-ring seal (not shown).

  8. Remove six bolts (23) and remove sequence valve assembly (24).

  9. Remove six O-ring seals (25). Remove five screws (26). Remove two plugs (27). Remove O-ring seals (not shown) from plugs (27).

  10. Remove four bolts (28) and remove intensifier valve assembly (29).

  11. Remove 14 screws (33). Remove plug (30), O-ring seal (31), and check valve (32). There are four plugs, O-ring seals, and check valves in total.

  12. Remove four bolts (35) and cover (34). Remove O-ring seals (36), (37), (38), and backup rings (39), (40), (41) and (42).

  13. Remove 15 O-ring seals (46). Remove 12 screws (47). Remove cap (45), O-ring seal (44), and check valve (43). Repeat for the remaining cap assembly. Remove check valves (48).
