Speed sensor for the engine |
The speed sensor is used in order to sense engine speed.
The speed sensor is a passive magnetic sensor. The sensor produces an analog signal.
The sensor is an input to the tachometer. The tachometer uses the signal from the sensor in order to calculate the engine speed.
ReferenceSee Systems Operation, "Guages" for information on the tachometer.
Thermocouples

Thermocouple |
The thermocouples monitor the temperature of the following components:
- Turbocharger inlet
- individual exhaust ports
The thermocouples are inputs to the pyrometer. The pyrometer uses the signal from the thermocouples in order to display the temperatures of the components.
ReferenceSee Systems Operation, "Guages" for information on the pyrometer.
