Assembly Procedure

Note: Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Note: Lubricate the moving parts and the seals with clean hydraulic fluid during assembly.

1. Prior to assemble, verify the free length of spring (4). Refer to Specifications, "Pressure Control Valve".

2. Install spool (14) in valve housing (15). Install valve housing (15) onto the cover. Tighten valve housing (15) to torque of 70 ± 7 N·m (52 ± 5 lb ft).

3. Install O-ring seal (13), backup ring (12) , O-ring seal (11), backup ring (10), O-ring seal (9), O-ring seal (8), and backup ring (7)

   Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury. To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

4. Apply Tooling (A) to spring (6) and dowel (5). Install spring (6) and dowel (5).

   Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury. To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

5. Install spring (4). Install O-ring seal (3) onto adjusting screw (2). Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of adjusting screw (2). Install adjusting screw (2) and retaining ring (1).

6. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Pressure Control Valve (Operating Pressure) - Test and Adjust".

1. Install the pressure control valve into the control valve. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Pressure Control Valve - Install".
