Cat® Data Link is an input and an output of the Brake ECM and is connected to the ECM at connector J1-10 and J1-20.
Cat Data Link has the following features or performs the following functions:
- Communicates with other electronic control modules through the machine harness.
- Not a visible component.
- Consists of internal ECM circuits and the connecting harness wiring.
- Allows the ECM to receive and send information.
- Bidirectional.
Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service Tool also communicates with other ECM modules through Cat Data Link. Cat ET will list the other ECM modules and the available diagnostic information.
