Object Detection Sensor (Radar) - Check/Clean - Autonomy Perception

Usage:

789D SPD
Note: A portable access system may be required.

Refer to the following list for inspecting and cleaning the object detection sensors.

Inspect

  1. Inspect the object detection enclosure (1).

    1. Inspect the covers of the enclosure and mounting brackets of the object detection sensors for cracks or damage.

Note: Glass cover must be set flat. When a cover for the object detection enclosure has been damaged, replace the cover.

    2. Ensure that the mounting bolts are tight.

  2. Check the object detection sensors for an excessive amount of mud or other materials around the object detection sensors.

Note: When the object detection sensors are covered with mud or other debris, clean the cover and/or remove debris.

  3. If the sensor or sensors have been moved, removed, or replaced, then refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Calibrations for Maintenance"

Cleaning Instructions

  1. Clean debris off first, using hose or pressure wash.

  2. Use a damp cloth with non-abrasive soap to clean the glass of the object detection sensors. The covers of the object detection sensors are not affected by a wash with high-pressure spray.

  3. If sensor or sensor box has moved, a perception system calibration must be performed. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8845, "Autonomous Calibration Procedure".
