Fuel Priming Pump

Usage:

Remove Fuel Priming Pump

preparatory step:

a) remove expansion tank (Marine engines only)

1. Disconnect fuel inlet line from the pump.

2. Disconnect fuel outlet line (2).

3. Remove bracket mounting bolts (3).

4. Remove base mounting bolts (1).

5. Remove fuel priming pump.

Install Fuel Priming Pump

1. Position pump on filter housing. Connect the fuel outlet line.

2. Install the base mounting bolts.

3. Install the bracket mounting bolts.

4. Connect the fuel lines to the priming pump.

concluding step:

a) install expansion tank (Marine engines only)

Disassemble Fuel Priming Pump

preparatory step:

a) remove fuel priming pump

1. Remove tube assembly (2) from valve body (1).

2. Remove support (3) and retainer.

3. Remove knob, nut, locking plate, guide and spring. Remove piston and rod assembly from tube.

4. Remove the stopper (4) and seals (6) from piston (5).

5. Remove plug, washer, springs, valve, and O-ring seal from valve body.

Assemble Fuel Priming Pump

1. Install O-ring seal, springs, valve, washer and plug into valve body (1).

2. Coat the stopper with 5H2471 Cement. Install stopper into piston.

3. Lubricate seals and piston with 4L7464 Silicone Grease. Install seals on piston.

4. Using compressor (A), install piston assembly into the tube. Install the spring, guide, locking plate, nut and knob on the rod assembly. Install the support and retainer.

5. Install the tube assembly on the valve body.

concluding step:

a) install fuel priming pump
