Start By:

  1. Remove the piston pump (implement).

  1. Remove bolts (1) and valve group (2), and the O-ring seals from center section (3).

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.


  2. Remove bolts (4), nuts (5), and O-ring seals (6).

  3. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to remove rear pump housing (7).

  4. Remove bearing (8) and bearing cup (9) from rear pump housing (7).

    Note: There are two Brass Pins (which are used to hold the bearings in place) remaining in the front pump housing. If undamaged, leave the brass pins in the front pump housing.

  5. Remove connection rods (10) from center section (3).

  6. Remove rotating group (11) from center section (3).

  7. Use Tooling (B) to remove the bearing cone (13) from the rotating group. Remove ring (12).

  8. Slide shaft (14) out of barrel (16). Remove barrel (16) from the piston assembly.

  9. Use a suitable press and Tooling (C) to remove bearing cone (15) from shaft (14).

  10. Remove lube tubes (17), shims (19), and/or washers.

    Note: Some pumps will NOT have washers

  11. Remove port plate (18) from center section (3).

  12. Remove center section (3) from the front pump housing.

  13. Remove lube tubes (20), shims (23), and/or washers.

    Note: Some pumps will NOT have Washers

  14. Remove port plate (21) and coupling (22).

  15. Use Tooling (B) to remove the bearing cone (24) from the rotating group. Remove bearing cone (24) and ring (25).

  16. Remove rotating group (26) from front pump housing (27).

  17. Remove drive shaft (29) from cylinder barrel (28).

  18. Remove cylinder barrel (28) from the piston assembly.

  19. Use a suitable press to remove bearing cone (30) and guide (31) from drive shaft (29). Remove bearing cone (30) and guide (31).

  20. Use a suitable press to compress spring (35).

  21. Remove retaining ring (32) from barrel assembly (16).

  22. Remove washers (34), spring (35), and bushings (33) from barrel assembly (16).

  23. Apply heat to swashplate (37) to remove bolts (36).

    Note: Bolts (36) have Loctite applied to threads and will require heat to remove.

  24. Remove bolts (36) from swashplate (37).

  25. Remove retainer (38) and shims (39).

    Note: Keep the shims with the plate.

  26. Remove pistons (40) and plate (41) from swashplate (37).

  27. Remove pistons (40) from plate (41).

    Note: Mark the location of shaft (43) for installation purposes.

  28. Remove retainer (45), shims (46), and shaft (43) from swashplate (37). Remove ring (42) from shaft (43), if necessary. Remove actuator assembly (44).

  29. Use Tooling (D) and a suitable press to remove retainer (48), spring (49), and retainer (50) from actuator (47).

  30. Remove retaining ring (51) and piston (52) from actuator (47).

  31. Remove sleeves (53) from the swashplate.

  32. Repeat Steps 18 through 31 for the rotating group from the front pump housing.

  33. Remove bolts (54) and retainer (55) from front pump housing (27).

  34. Remove O-ring seal (56) from retainer (55).

  35. Use Tooling (C) and a suitable press to remove lip seal (57) from retainer (55). Remove lip seal (57).

  36. Remove bearings (58) from front pump housing (27).

    Note: There are two (2) Brass Pins (which are used to hold the bearings in place) remaining in the front pump housing. If undamaged, leave the brass pins in the front pump housing

  37. Use Tooling (C) and a suitable press to remove bearing cup (59). Remove bearing cup (59).

  38. Repeat Steps 36 and 37 for the rear pump housing.

  39. Remove bearing cups (60) and shims (61) from center section (3).
