Propel Control (Auto Vibe Control) - Calibrate

Usage:

Note: This procedure requires the use of the Plus+1TM Service Tool. Refer to Troubleshooting, UENR6708 for information about the Plus+1TM Service Tool.

Diesel engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may cause personal injury.

Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area, and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.


------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from rotating and moving parts. Stay clear of all rotating and moving parts.

Never attempt adjustments while the machine is moving or the engine is running unless otherwise specified.

The machine must be parked on a level surface and the engine stopped.

Attach a "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the start switch and controls before servicing, repairing, or making adjustments to the machine.

Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.

Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.

To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine.

  1. Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface. Make sure that the machine is not articulated.

  2. Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

  3. Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

  4. Use throttle control switch (3) to operate the engine in ECO mode or in low idle.

    Note: Two things indicate when the engine is in ECO mode. First, "ECO" will appear on the display. Second, the second LED next to throttle control switch (3) will be illuminated. Two things indicate when the engine is at low idle. First "Low Idle" will appear on the display. Second, the first LED next to the throttle control switch will be illuminated.

  5. Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.

  6. Connect Tool (B3) to diagnostic connector (5). Connect Tool (B2) to USB port on Tool (A).

  7. Move engine start switch (4) to the ON position.

  8. Click Plus+1TM icon (6) to launch the Plus+1TM program on Tool (E).

    Note: The connection instruction for the Plus+1TM service tool for Caterpillar® is published in Special Instruction, REHS7696. , "Software Installation Instructions of the Plus+1TM Service Tool for Caterpillar® (P1STC) Is available for Caterpillar Paving Products".

  9. Click "Open Folder" icon (7) or "Open Folder" icon (8) to access the diagnostic files.

  10. Select "CAT Diagnostic Files" folder (9). Click "Open" button (10).

  11. Select "CCS9 T4fWB" file (11) then click "Open" button (12).

    Note: The machine-specific diagnostic P1D file must be used with the P1STC program to communicate with the machine ECM.

  12. Select the "Configuration" icon (13).

  13. Select the "Vibratory System" (14).

  14. The default setting is 35 percent.

  15. Select the increase or decrease arrows (15) to select your value of engagement.

  16. Select "Save" (16).

  17. Close Plus+1TM.

  18. Disconnect Tool (B3) from diagnostic connector (5). Disconnect Tool (B2) from USB port on Tool (A).

  19. Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.
