The screed is equipped with two extender manifolds (1). Only the left extender manifold is shown in Illustration 1. One screed extender manifold controls the left screed extender. The other screed extender manifold controls the right screed extender. The valves are mounted to the top of the screed.
Each screed extender manifold contains two solenoids (4) and (5). Each solenoid has associated arc suppressor (2) and (3). The screed extender solenoids are controlled by the screed width switches that are located on the screed and the tractor operator stations.
The solenoid can be identified by the wiring. The wires are labelled in the following way:
- K841-BR wire (left extender extend solenoid (5) )
- K845-OR wire (left extender retract solenoid (4) )
- K842-BU wire (right extender extend solenoid)
- K846-PK wire (right extender retract solenoid)
