10. Speed Sensor Installation

Usage:

The speed sensor is installed at the rear of the engine on the flywheel housing.

SPEED SENSOR LOCATION
(1) SPEED SENSOR.

1. Remove the plug in the flywheel housing at the location the speed sensor (1) is to be installed.

2. A gear tooth must be directly under the speed sensor mounting hole. If not, disconnect the connector to the rack actuator and move the flywheel until a gear tooth is directly under the mounting hole.

3. Turn the speed sensor into the mounting hole until it contacts the gear tooth. Turn the speed sensor out 5/8 of a turn. Tighten the locknut. Be sure the speed sensor remains between 1/2 and 3/4 of a turn out after the locknut is tightened.

4. Connect the three wire harness connector to the speed sensor. Tighten the retainer.
