Usage:
(9)Fan Bearing
Lubricate 1 fitting.
(10)Cooling System-Add Corrosion Inhibitor
Always inspect the cooling system with the engine stopped. Inhibitor contains alkali, avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury. Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. |
First 500 SERVICE HOURS OR 3 MONTHS on a new or reconditioned engine: Add enough Caterpillar Corrosion Inhibitor, 1 pint (.50 liter) per 4 gallons (15.14 liters) of cooling system capacity, or equivalent, so that the cooling system will have a 3% concentration of inhibitor.
EVERY 500 SERVICE HOURS OR 3 MONTHS thereafter: Add 1 pint (.50 liters) of Caterpillar Corrosion Inhibitor, or equivalent, per 16 gallons (60.57 liters) of cooling system capacity. This will maintain the required 3% concentration of inhibitor.

---|
Do not use Caterpillar Corrosion Inhibitor with Dowtherm 209 Coolant. |
- 1. Loosen the radiator cap slowly to relieve pressure, and remove cap.
It may be necessary, to drain enough coolant to allow for the addition of corrosion inhibitor.
- 2. Add the correct amount of Caterpillar Corrosion Inhibitor, or equivalent.
- 3. Inspect the filler cap gasket. Use a new cap if the used one is damaged.
- 4. Install the radiator filler cap.
