Batteries give off flammable fumes that can explode. Do not smoke when observing electrolyte level. Electrolyte is an acid, and can cause personal injury if it contacts skin or eyes. |
At the proper charging rate, in a moderate climate, the batteries should not require more than 2 ounces (60 cc) of water per cell every 2 weeks.
- 1. Clean the top of the batteries with a clean cloth. Keep the battery terminals clean and coated with grease.
- 2. Inspect the electrolyte level in each of the battery cells. Maintain the level to the bottom of the plug openings with distilled water.
