Start By:

  1. Separate the track.

    Note: You will adjust the height of Tooling (A) for sufficient clearance to remove the track adjuster.

  1. Raise the side of the machine. Install Tooling (A) under the frame.

  2. Remove the track roller that is located under the track adjuster. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Roller - Remove and Install".

  3. Use a suitable pry bar to move the front idler and recoil spring assembly forward approximately 152 mm (6.0 inch) in the undercarriage frame.

    Note: The front track carrier roller has been removed to provide a better illustration of bolts (1). Bolts (1) secure the track adjuster to the vertical bulkhead in the undercarriage frame.

  4. Access bolts (1) through the opening in the undercarriage frame below the track carrier roller. Loosen bolts (1). Do not remove bolts (1) that secure the hydraulic track adjuster to the undercarriage frame.

  5. Carefully support track adjuster (2) before you remove track adjuster (2). The weight of track adjuster (2) is approximately 10 kg (22 lb). Remove bolts (1) and remove track adjuster (2).
