Test Preparation

    Illustration 1g06364890
    (A) Preliminary run 5 m (16 ft 5 in)
    (B) Travel distance 20 m (65 ft 7 in)

  1. Travel distance must be at least 25 m (82 ft) long. Travel test ground must be hard and as level as possible.

  2. Draw a 25 m (82 ft) straight line on travel test ground as a reference line.

  3. Ensure all control levers shall operate freely from neutral to full travel.

  4. Ensure that the bucket is empty prior to starting the test.

Test Procedure

  1. Start the engine.

  2. Place the engine speed dial in the HIGH IDLE position.

  3. Lower the hydraulic control console to activate the hydraulic circuits.

  4. Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).

  5. Position the machine for the travel test. Position the machine so that one track is parallel with the reference line. Refer to Illustration 1.

  6. Place the travel speed control switch to the HIGH SPEED position.

  7. Move the machine by operating both travel control levers at the same time, in the fully shifted position.

  8. The first 5 m (16 ft 5 in) are for a preliminary run. Measure the travel time that is required to travel the remaining 20 m (65 ft 7 in). Measure the time that is required in each direction.

  9. Measure the travel deviation from the reference line.

  10. Place the travel speed control switch on the LOW SPEED position and repeat Steps 7 through 9.

Note: The maximum drift represents the travel deviation (distance) from the reference line.

Note: With the travel control levers fully shifted, travel turn should be insignificant when either the stick cylinder or bucket cylinder is activated.

Note: Right and left travel control levers shall return to NEUTRALposition from any PARTIALLY or FULLY shifted position.

Note: Both tracks shall start to move simultaneously when both travel control levers are shifted together.
