Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  2. Remove bolts (1) and guard (2).

  3. Remove bolts (3), nuts (4), and bracket (5).

  4. Remove bolts (6), nuts (7), and brace (8).

  5. Remove tube (9).

  6. Remove bolts (10) and plates (11).

  7. Loosen clamps (12) and disconnect hose (13).

  8. Remove bolts (14), nuts (15), and top tank (16).

  9. Remove radiator cores (17) as needed.

  10. Remove grommets (18).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install radiator cores (17) in the reverse order of removal.

    Note: Replace grommets (18) with new ones.
