Transmission Oil Level - Check

Usage:

CX38-P800 A3X
Check the oil level of the transmission under the following conditions:

  • The transmission oil is warmed to operating temperature.

  • The engine is at LOW IDLE.

  • The transmission is in NEUTRAL.

  • The vehicle is on level ground.

Also read the Oil Level Check instruction in the Transmission Control section which explains the Shift Pad function while the oil level is being determined. Illustration 21 of the Transmission Control section provides a description of the Shift Pad characters for checking the transmission oil.

    (1) Filler Tube and Dipstick

  1. Remove dipstick (1) and check the oil level with the oil warm and the transmission in the NEUTRAL position.

  2. Stop engine, if necessary, add oil.

  3. Install dipstick.
