(1) Breather

Breather (1) may be remote mounted with a flexible hose to improve performance of the breather. Mounting of the breather (1) should be approximately 2 feet above the transmission. The flexible hose must have a continuous downward slope from the breather (1) to the transmission case.

Note: Inspect the breather within 3 to 4 days. If air conditions are dirty, then inspect the breather daily.

  1. Remove the breather.

    Note: For a standard breather, perform Step 2. Replace the optional 258-2829 Breather for the integral pump drive, as required. Replace the optional breather every 1500 service hours or 1 year.

  2. Wash the breather in a clean, nonflammable solvent. Allow the breather cap to air dry.

  3. Install the breather.
