Former Oil Pump Group Is Now Used Again

Usage:

3208 Engines (90N, 32Y)

Description of Change: A 9N5487 Oil Pump Group has been used in place of the 9N5128 (or the earlier 9N541) Oil Pump Group on the above 3208 Engines for a short period of time. (Neither of these pumps is available as a group for parts service.) The 9N5487 Oil Pump Group uses a cover group with a different type of pressure relief valve. This valve has not given the improvement expected in this application. For this reason, the 9N5487 Oil Pump Group has been canceled and the 9N5128 Oil Pump Group is now used again on these engines. Oil lines groups are also changed, so the correct oil pump suction bell is used to fit the oil pump cover.

Oil pump cover parts.

Adaptable As: Direct replacement when the necessary parts are used together. The only difference between the 9N5128 (or earlier 9N541) and the 9N5487 Oil Pump Groups is the cover assembly/group. Installation of the 9N976 Cover Assembly will change a 9N5487 Oil Pump Group to a 9N5128 Oil Pump Group. The new oil lines parts must be used with the new cover assembly.
